Genemaster goats are a Kiko/Boer hybrid recognized by the American Kiko Goat Association. The goal of the program is to achieve a third generation cross that is 3/8 Kiko and 5/8 Boer, called "Texas Genemasters," which embodies the best traits of both breeds. 2014 first generation Genemaster doe - registered with AKGA Pedigree
Blue is the first addition to my Genemaster program, combining the best qualities of the Kiko and Boer breeds. Blue is a perfect example of this as her sire is tall and rangy but very hardy with great feet, and her dam is a lovely older style Boer with great width and strength.
While she's only registered as 50%, Cassie's actual breeding is 5/8 Kiko and 3/8 Boer - the third generation Genemaster breeding which AKGA calls "New Zealand Genemaster." I am interested in comparing the traits of this breeding versus the "Texas Genemaster." Although not eligible for the Genemaster program, Cassie exemplifies the attributes of the breeding with a thicker build than purebred Kikos but retaining great overall balance and hoof structure. She shares the same Lookout Point Ranch sire as Narnia.
